Sri Lanka President condoles on the death of former Indian Prime Minister.

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a message to Indian Prime Minister offered his condolences on the death of former Indian PM Shri I.K.Gujral.
President's condolence message issued by the President's International Media Director Anuradha K.Herath reads.

Upon learning of the death of former Indian Prime Minister Shri I.K.Gujral, His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa offered his condolences and support to the former premier's family and friends, and to the people of India in a statement sent to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Describing the former premier as a "distinguished leader and an outstanding public figure" that was "ahead of his times," President Rajapaksa remembered Shri Gujral's particular contribution in strengthening India - Sri Lanka ties
